Abstract:

This workshop will be held in cooperation of 3 members of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Hypnosis (ESH). Stella Nkenke, Wasim Biroumi and Andreas Kollar will present their work with patients who are experiencing "pain-states".

Wasim Biroumi will talk about Hypnotic Plasticity:
Hypnotic plasticity is the idea that the brain's plasticity—the ability to reorganize and adapt its structure and function—can be influenced by hypnotic suggestions. Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. Hypnotic plasticity leverages this innate capacity by utilizing focused attention and suggestion to induce changes in neural processing. in order to further strengthen the hypnotic suggestions, it is crucial to detect the person's strongest channels of communication.

Stella Nkenke will talk about successful hypnotherapeutic support for complex regional painsyndrome (CRPS):
CRPS often presents both the patient and the practitioner with achallenging situation. To better understand the CRPS, the classicsymptoms and the resulting problems of the patient are discussed. As hypnotherapy is particularly useful here differenthypnotherapeutic interventions and trances will be presented usingcase studies. The aim is for each participant to be able to use thestrategies presented to effectively support patients with CRPS.

Andreas Kollar will show a Live-Demo of his approach to hypnosis where hypnotherapy is used as a facilitation-tool for the use of focussed silence and a tapping tool to manage pain-states.

Stella Nkenke (Germany, Austria), Wasim Biroumi (Israel) and Andreas Kollar (Austria) are memebers of the BoD of the European Society of Hypnosis
