Abstract:

Metaphors are one of the most used ways to give a message in therapy. Even if some therapists give some of the hard-work understanding the meaning and make the helpful associations to the patient's “unconscious mind”, we can give enough clues in our communication making our therapeutic message more likely to be taken.

In this workshop, we want to propose and explore a way to co-construct metaphors in a simple manner, to both give space to make free associations and to provoke the states where those associations are more prone to be done and useful, while strategically suggest responses toward change.

This method pretend to be useful even if you are not working with ritualistic hypnosis, since using evocative and strategic communication as a tool to elicit useful states where our message will be better accepted, could be offered in normal day-to day-communication and other contexts.
